The Incredible Tale of Steve Schwarzman

This is Stephen A. Schwarzman’s story. In 2008 Steve was listed as the fifty third most wealthy person in the country written by Forbes Magazine, but it’s not money which makes this story gripping but additionally his undreamt of rise to power in the financial world and his generosity to education and the arts. Steve’s success story has been inspirational to multitudes of individuals all over the world and in addition it serves as a reminder that anyone may be financially successful through just a modicum of commitment.


In the eighties Steve and his business partner set up their very first business providing sound financial advice to the American investment community. With the market maturing, it has set the standard in mergers and acquisitions; but note that he did not manage his own business immediately. Living for many of his formative years in near Philadelphia, PA, Steve got his schooling in the Abingdon school district. Then he went on to acquire his degree from Yale University in 1969. He undertook an Master’s degree in Business Administration at the well-known Harvard Business school near Boston, Massachusetts.

Afterwards he became part of the investment team at Lehman Brothers. By his thirty second birthday he was already on the board of directors. Steve doesn’t solely offer his time to a variety of not-for-profit organizations, but additionally he has also volunteered as a part-time professor at Yale. Furthermore, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the JFK Center for the Performing Arts in Manhattan. On top of all that, he proudly announced on March 11, 2008 that he had given $100 million to the New York Public Library to help them extend. He is also one of the trustees of the library.

Steve is now a role model to a new generation of would-be tycoons - As one of Times Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People alive today, Steve is now in the focus of media attention and affecting people on an international scale. His mastery of the business world has been amazing, and no doubt his willingness to give back to the community has set business leaders a new class of its own standard to abide by from now on. It seems that at the moment, Stephen A. Schwarzman has it all. In summary, Steve has had an important influence on the business and financial communities and to the world at large.
